This boy called Ravi sparked my interest in drowning. I met him and his Nan whilst living in Cambodia. He had learning difficulties and a physical disability. In 2005 Ravi died from drowning, whilst playing in a canal with his friends. He couldn’t save himself and no one there could save him. Like many child drowning fatalities, this was tragic and preventable.
